For another Valentine month treat, SSISM’s No Hesitation channel features the school’s French teacher, Mr. RJ Calingasan, with his rendition of La Vie En Rose. His performance will not only make you fall in love with the song but will also amaze you with his French language skills.
La Vie En Rose, which essentially means “seeing life through rose-colored glasses” speaks about loss of love and surviving through that difficult time. A song popularized by one of France’s best singers in the 40s, Edith Piaf, this love song makes you realize how beautiful life is when love is above it despite the inevitable sorrow. The song has been translated in English and a movie that featured Edith Piaf’s life with it as the theme song was filmed in 2007.
