Flashback Friday: A Legacy of Peace
Today, as we celebrate Wolrd Peace One Day at SSISM, we’re also looking back on a moment from 9 years ago that highlighted our commitment to peace and dialogue. In 2015, SSIS Malarayat made it to the Top 3 of Face to Faith’s Peace One Day Dialogue for Peace Building Competition, (a Tony Blair Foundation Project) chosen from over 70 entries worldwide! 
Our entry featured a powerful dialogue between Grade 9 and 10 students and our kasambahay, caregivers, yayas, and drivers, where they shared their dreams, struggles, and triumphs. Jo Malone, Senior Project Manager of Face to Faith, remarked, “It is always difficult to do dialogue with those in your direct community or in your home. The event brought understanding across a socio-economic divide, and judges found it to be a truly unique response.”
As we celebrate Peace One Day today, let this memory remind us of the enduring spirit of peace and unity that defines our community.
